As we actively monitor the developments of COVID-19 and continue to keep the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, and staff our top priority, we regret to inform you that the inaugural Chicago 26.2 has been postponed. The new race date is Saturday, April 3, 2021. 

Due to this unprecedented time, all registrations will be automatically deferred free of charge to the new event date. Please note we are unable to offer refunds - as is standard in the race industry. As with all events, proceeds from the event are used to cover the numerous nonrefundable pre-race expenses needed to produce the event.

Packet Pick-Up

There are 3 options for picking up your race packet. Your QR code from your confirmation email is needed to pick up your race packet.

Option 1

Pick up your race packet in person prior to the race at:

Friday, April 2 (12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Option 2

Have a friend or family member pick up your race packet for you by presenting your QR code prior to the race (location, dates, and times listed above).

Option 3

Race Day Packet Pick-Up. For $10.00 per race packet, you can pick up your race packet on race day before the event from 6:30 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. You can sign up for this service during the registration process.

Please note only those who register for Race Day Packet Pick-Up will be able to pick up their race packet on race day.
Swag

All participants will receive an official race shirt, finisher medal, bib number, and free race photos with their entry.

Marathon (26.2 miles)

Start & Finish Location

Grant Park – Arvey Field

USATF Certified

The Chicago 26.2 will be USATF certified.

Timing

The Chicago 26.2 will feature the B-Tag Chronotrack timing system. All participants will receive a B-Tag timing device with their bib number.

Course Time Limit

All participants must maintain a 15:00 minute per mile pace or faster.

Course Map & Elevation

The Chicago 26.2 will start and finish in Grant Park and take place throughout Chicago's lakefront.

Race Day

On race day, be sure to allow enough time to check in (e.g., parking, gear check, etc.). We recommend participants arrive at least 45 minutes before the race.

Start Time

7:30 a.m.

Parking & Transportation

All participants are strongly encouraged to carpool or use public transportation to the race site.

Gear Check

Gear Check will be available at the race site.

Photos

All participants will receive free race day photos from Gameface Media. Photos will be available the week following the race and emailed to all participants.

Awards

The top three overall male and female finishers will receive awards.

In the event of inclement weather (e.g., lightning) or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of participants, race officials reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the race. All registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

All registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable. No exceptions. As with all events, proceeds from the event are used to cover the numerous nonrefundable pre-race expenses required to produce the event.

Weather Policy

The Chicago 26.2 will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather (e.g., lightning) or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of participants, race officials reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the race. All registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Lightning Policy

In the event of lightning, the race will be postponed 30 minutes if lightning is detected within a 10 mile radius. Additionally, every time lightning is detected within a 10 mile radius, the 30 minute timing increment will restart.
